Nature of Construction Work

Work Outdoors - Weather exposure (heat, rain, cold, etc.).  Must be able to open truck hoods, shovel out dump boxes, hook and un-hook trailers.

Travel – You need to be able to travel to your place of employment.  Your employer may be located in a different city than you.  Your employer may have you reporting to a job that is in a different city than yours.

Seasonal Work – Depends on the year, your location, and the contractor that you are working for as to the length of the season.  Workers in Spokane work a shorter season than the Tri-cities.  Occasionally, workers in Western Washington work year around.

Gratification – Construction sites are always changing.  Every day there is progress.  It is rewarding to see you and your teams accomplishments at the end of the day.  Often times we get to see a project from the beginning to the end.  Years later you may visit a project that you participated in.
